Some thoughts I had while reading this
- Zweig had some shinning moments in this book. There are some scenes which are so vivid I can still feel them weeks after reading the book.
- The father in his small apartment in Berlin
- The description of Berlin
- The scene by the lake where they touched for the first time
- The theme and story are entertaining yet not really the point. What is really interesting is Zweig’s ability to get inside the mind of his characters.
