There are quite a few reasons why I think this is a good solution:

• First, it's great for all the same reasons why keeping your notes in email is a good idea
• My ToDo is kept in the same tool that I use and stare at all day every day
• It's possible and easy to collaborate on a task with someone
• Once the task is done, I am able to archive it with all the context and metadata intact

• When I have a task to add to the list, I send myself an email with the subject [task] XXX
• This adds it to my inbox and it remains there until it gets done
• If the tasks is complex, I can reply to my own email with notes on my progress
• Archive the task once it's done
