email_tasks

I send myself tasks via email

There are quite a few reasons why I think this is a good solution:

  1. First, it's great for all the same reasons why keeping your notes in email is a good idea
  2. My ToDo is kept in the same tool that I use and stare at all day every day
  3. It's possible and easy to collaborate on a task with someone
  4. Once the task is done, I am able to archive it with all the context and metadata intact

What does this process actually look like?

  1. When I have a task to add to the list, I send myself an email with the subject [task] XXX
  2. This adds it to my inbox and it remains there until it gets done
  3. If the tasks is complex, I can reply to my own email with notes on my progress
  4. Archive the task once it's done
