Since March 2022, I have owned a 5610u Casio Gshock.
I have worn it almost every day since.
I obviously think the watch is great if I wear it so much.
Below some of the reasons why.
I only use two of them.
One at 7h30 so that I wake up before the kids do. Even 10 minutes waking up before them is a game changer in terms of quality of life. It makes you feel that you control your day.
The second is set at 12h00. I just like to know when it's mid-day. My work day is split in two and that alarm tells me that the first half is done.
To be clear, a timer is a countdown chronomoter. I keep it at 3 minutes, that means I'm 5 button presses I can do blind to starting a 3 min timer. That is very useful because often when I want to infuse my tea, I need a 3 min timer.
It's bright enough for me to use it as a flash-light in the middle of the night. Super useful when you have to get up to go pee. Also super useful when one of your kids is crying in the middle of the night. That way you can avoid the toys on the floor and find the stuffed animal he was looking for.
I live in Madrid but work with people in many other timezones. The most important ones are Karachi and Guatemala. I keep both of those memorized so that I can see what time it is there by pressing one button.
This is very important. It allows me to keep it on at all times. It's a tool I use maybe 20 or 30 times a day. You have to keep it on you at all times, otherwise you won't have it when you need it.
This might be the most important attribute of this watch. There are smart watches which can do the above and many more things. This watch has just the right level of complexity. Any more and it would be cumbersome to use.
