I enjoy works by Tolstoy very much. Below some of the books I have enjoyed from him:

• The Death of Ivan Ilyich
• Hadji Murat
• How much land does a man need?
• The Kreutzer Sonata

I really appreciate the direct nature of the writing from Tolstoy in his short stories. They are straight to the point, the stories are heavily symbolic and exaggerated. They are only there to get the point across.
